This is an good example of the fly Plecia pealei (Scudder). The wings lack good detail but the thorax and legs are well preserved. Plecia pealei is commonly known as a March Fly. This is one of the few Green River insects that is adequately studied and named by Samuel Scudder in the 1890's.
